It's always been a goal of mine to photograph a proposal, and I'm so happy to say that it has finally happened! My cousin's boyfriend (now fiance!) Doug had contacted me the day before the proposal and asked me to capture it, and I'm so glad I did! He invited a few of Missy's friends and her older brother to hand her roses as she walked towards the cliff, where Doug was waiting to pop the big question. It was incredibly beautiful and I'm so happy I got to be there to capture it. Congratulations Missy & Doug!
Funny story: After the proposal, Missy had told us that when she saw the roses placed along the trail, she knew someone was going to get proposed to, but she had no idea it was going to be her! She decided not to pick the roses up because she "didn't want to ruin it for the person getting proposed to" but she did take one of them and stuck it in a pile of horse droppings and said, "I wanted to show that anything can be turned beautiful if you just put a rose on it." Well said, Missy. Well said.
